Patient led activities

Members of the Friends of Leacroft volunteer their time, ideas, and enthusiasm to organise and run activities and sessions with a view to:

  • Meet the social requirements of our patients by providing the support and connection people need to improve their own health
  • Enable Leacroft and patients to find new ways of working together; make a difference in our patient’s lives and improve services through social interaction.

Evidence shows that patients involved in champion-led activities see significant improvements in mental health and wellbeing.
Examples of solutions that the patient-led practice health champions have achieved across the country are: walking groups, book clubs, craft clubs, allotments, choirs, christmas dinners for isolated patients, flu clinics, and the formation of football teams leading to new friendships thus reducing isolation and loneliness.

Regular PHC Led Activities:

  • Last Tuesday of every month 10am to 11.30 am – Coffee morning at Leacroft Medical Practice
  • First Wednesday of every month 2pm to 3.30pm – Afternoon tea at Revive Cafe, Charis Centre, West Green
  • Every Thursday 10am – Social stroll (does not require booking)

We are restricted on numbers of attendees and therefore we ask that you book your place in advance at reception.

All sessions will be advertised on the waiting room notice boards in our patient newsletters and via our social media channels.

  • If you have any questions or want to know a little more and meet the PHC team please do come along to one of our activities.
